Made Whimsy is opening their preorder round this week for their custom fabric round for this summer, and this past week I got a chance to sew up a few of the prints on cotton lycra. For the boys, I sewed both colorways of the King of the Sea. The blue that Aaron (my youngest son) is wearing can be found here.  The turquoise that Luke is wearing can be found here. The cotton lycra is so soft from Made Whimsy and is wonderful for children’s clothing. Aaron had a hard time hiding how he felt about his brother in this photo.

I made Luke the Regem by Sofilantjes. It is a wonderful unisex pattern that goes up to size 12. I love the details on this top to show off a print or mix it with a solid. Aaron is wearing his favorite tank top from a pattern that was never released that Aimee gave me a few years ago.

Luke told me all about the sharks on his shirt. He is a huge fan of Wild Kratts, which is a kids show on PBS. He has learned so much on that show about wild life.

Aaron cheered up for his photos when he got to play with a ball.

The black solid that I used to coordinate on both boys shorts is the Made Whimsy black, found here.

Next up is baby girl. I made her a muse playsuit with the unicorn seahorses for the main print and the bubbles for the coordinate. I have enough of the coordinate left over that I am planning some bubble shorts for her with it. Her outfit is the muse playsuit by Stitched Upon a Time.

I used fusible fleece interfacing for the trim on the front. If I make this pattern again. I will also add snaps to the crotch to make diaper changes easier. She will be 3 months in a few days so I made her the 3-6 month size. It fits perfect (for now!!).

The unicorn seahorses and bubbles look so cute together. I used Kamsnaps in the Raspberry color to match the pink background. The Made Whimsy purple is also a perfect match for the seahorses.

I did not have time to sew strike offs for me too, but Aimee did! She is wearing the cutest outfit and got a chance to take a few photos with Hannah. Aren’t they so stinking cute together! Aimee is wearing the magical mermaid, found here and here. Those beautiful large scales also look so good next to the seahorses and bubbles that baby girl is wearing.

The Made Whimsy summer preorder is open through April 16. Grab these beautiful prints while they are at preorder pricing!
